The GF found out yesterday that the funding that would be paying her for the next school year is gone.
This means she has two weeks to find a new job.
Not cool.
She was planning on finding a new job over the next year. In the academic world, there may be just 5 or so positions open at any given time that you are a good fit for. This translates into two pretty shitty things (1) Finding a new job in 2 weeks time is nearly impossible (2) She is going to have to move.
Right now I am just concerned for her. She has Type I diabetes and requires good health insurance. She also has a mortgage to pay and car payments to make. She needs a job, whatever and wherever it is...
We both knew that in a years time we may both be moving and would have to go wherever the jobs are. The relationship was just so new though that we were just kind of living in the moment, knowing that eventually we would have to face the reality of the situation if the relationship made it that long.
I am glad I can be there for her....
But this REALLY sucks!

That really is crappy, I hope she manages to find something and that it is not too far away from you, fingers crossed.
