Yes, there is a story behind this!
My extended family is very close. We get together all the time. Other than me and my immediate family, they all live within like 5 miles of each other. There are lots of families that live in close proximity, but we actually like each other. I grew up spending my summers in north caroline with the rest of them. My cousins are like sibblings (that I actually like). I don't know how we all ended up liking each other so much....maybe it was what we had to do to survive this crazy family. I don't know. We all have other non-related best friends, but there is just something that has made us extremely close. Maybe it was the shared memories of rubbing my grandmother's feet...
Anyhow, we decided on this trip that we would all get a matching tattoo. At first we were thinking of getting a B, since it is the first letter of our last name. But that just seemed too generic.
So, my grandfather was a farmer with money. We knew he had been buying antique tractors to keep himself busy, but we didn't know he had bought exactly nine of them until he passed away a few years ago. In his will, he left each of his nine grandchildren an antique tractor. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I am the proud owner of a red 1965 International Harvester tractor. It still runs! Too bad I live in the city!
So this is the where the tattoo comes from. Not only does is represent my bond with my cousins, but it is a constant reminder of my awesome grandfather. He was an amazing person. If is wasn't for his and my father's back breaking hard work, I surely would not be where I am today.
So yeah, I have a goofy little tattoo permanently etched in my skin. But it means alot to me...

I like it! I don't think it looks goofy, either.
