halloween!!!!

No pictures of cute kids here, this is an adults only club for now.

Two nights of fun for us! Both were supposed to be shared with loads of friends, but the tickets for friday nights festivities sold out before anyone else could get tickets! Saturday night, EVERYONE was sick. We were bummed, but had fun anyhow!

Friday night we found ourselves at the national zoo in DC.

I discovered the event because a favorite band of mine, grace potter and the nocturnals, were playing there. I would love to go back next year no matter who is playing. Such a great event AND proceeds benefit the zoo!

I made the coffee cup costume last year for my cousins 30th b-day party. Our costumes were more of a hit than we ever thought. One guy walked up, got a closer look, then said "you guys are gonna do it later". Funny guy...

We walked around drinking beer and checking out the animals at the zoo until the band went on at 10pm. At that point, everyone crammed their costumed bodies into a small tent in the middle of the zoo.

Drunk people are just so inconsiderate. I am sure I am when I'm drunk too. I just thought my costume would buy me some personal space. No such luck...

end friday night.

Saturday night we were invited to a house party by one of the gf's co-workers. The theme: Best little whore house in town.

I think I am somewhere around 6ft tall in heels. Good thing there was lots of liquor. Pretty sure those shoes wouldn't have lasted 5 minutes without it.

This is the best I could do with limited notice and funds to look like a whore. The gf went as a HIPS (helping individual prostitues survive) volunteer. This is a role she actually plays. She and other volunteers go out on a van certain nights of the week and hand out information, condoms, clean needles, std tests to sex workers.

She handed out cards and condoms at the party. It was a great ice breaker and a great way to spread the word about the work HIPS does! And an easy, but fitting costume.

we gave the skeleton some condoms just in case....

this guy wasn't very receptive, but we made sure he got some as well. FINALLY someone with a head larger than mine!
