....is a few more dads like mine.
I went by my parents house tonight drop off my grandmother for a sleep over. We are getting snow tomorrow and my mom was afraid she would be snowed in all by herself. I don't see my dad very often as we are both very busy. But when I do, it is always pleasant and refereshing.
Mom, grandmother and I are in the kitchen, chatting and doing various tasks. My dad walks over, gives me a kiss on the cheek, and then gives me a hug. He likes to give long hugs. Halfway through, he sqeezes even harder. Then he leans back and asks me how I'm doing.
That was our whole interaction all evening.
I am not sure how to let him know how much that simple gesture means to me.

ReplyDeleteOf course he knows! I think he's letting you know how much you mean to him, when he's doing that. Just squeeze him back, and it says the same thing to him :) I love daddies!
